MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1.
Current Commercial Rotorwing Certificate with Instrument Rating.
2. Second class FAA medical exam.
3. 2000 Hours Total in Helicopters.
4. 1000 Hours Pilot In Command.
5. 100 Hours Night Unaided.

REQUIREMENTS
:

5. In-depth knowledge of operational requirements of field, regulations, policies and procedures.
6. Able to work a 7/7 schedule with 12 hour shifts.
7. Must reside within 1 hour commute of the operating base.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


1. Ensure participation in the Omniflight Safety Program policies and procedures by all base personnel.
2. The primary duty of the Air Medical Pilot is to safely and expeditiously transport medical personnel and patients to and from the requested locations.
3. Directly responsible for determining whether the aircraft is in condition for safe flight.
4. Ensure the safety and security of the aircraft.
5. Keep the aircraft in a state of mission readiness and program personnel aware of any changes or expected changes in aircraft status.
6. Maintain individual availability in a timely manner for any requested flight during the duty shift.
7. Maintain a professional and well-groomed image at all times.
8. Ensure the aircraft is properly serviced and clean inside and out.
9. Ensure that the operation of the aircraft is compliant with company and regulatory guidelines.

 

        Flight Nurse

Provides high quality nursing care including assessment, triage, and treatment utilizing standards and guidelines established by Omniflight; assesses the nature and extent of illness or injury to establish and prioritize the care needed for safe transport of the critical patient to the appropriate facility; is qualified to provide care for patients across the life span in his/her assigned clinical area; responsible for carrying out the mission and goals of Omniflight assuring that safety remains the highest priority throughout the transport continuum.

Job Duties:
• Assesses patient needs in pre-hospital and hospital settings utilizing accepted nursing and paramedic standards; Sets priorities of care rapidly and accurately under all conditions and in varied environments; Functions in the field without direct supervision utilizing assessment skills and Omniflight written protocols when physician contact is not possible, and accepts responsibility for such actions.
• Maintains excellent documentation skills; Adheres to Omniflight requirements for clinical documentation, as well as documentation of demographic information for billing and collection purposes.
• Maintains and is proficient in the use of all supplies and equipment used for patient care, including communication equipment. This includes equipment utilized on helicopters, fixed wing aircraft, and ground ambulances.
• Participates in public/community relations and education assignments, which may include speaking to groups.
• Participates in process improvement and educational programs, which requires participating in chart reviews and in-service presentations; Attends yearly staff meetings as required by local medical direction.
• Maintains excellent customer service skills; Adheres to Omniflight customer service policy.

Required Qualifications:

• State Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure
• NRP
• ACLS
• PALS
• 3-5 Years Emergency or Critical Care experience

Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous EMS Flight Experience
• EMS Certification
• CFRN, CEN or CCRN
• Transport Nurse Advanced Trauma Course (TNATC)
• Instructor Status in ACLS/PALS/NRP/TNATC
 

Flight Paramedic

The Flight Paramedic acts as a team member in conjunction with the Flight Nurse to provide pre-hospital and in-flight care of the critically ill and injured persons of all ages. This expertise includes providing emergency/critical care in accordance with the mission statement and quality standards established by the State, CAMTS, and protocols established by the Medical Director and AEMS.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Thorough assessment of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and provides appropriate treatment.
• Works as a contributing member of the flight team either independently or with the Flight Nurse, as the situation dictates, utilizing the skills necessary according to their scope of practice. • Demonstrates proficiency in the operation of equipment and administration of all medications utilized to perform the job.
• Must operate within the protocols established by the Medical Director and Omniflight Helicopters.
• Cleans, maintains and checks aircraft and all equipment on a daily basis.
• Must maintain good working rapport with hospitals, referring agencies, user agencies, law enforcement, families, patients and co-workers. Responsible for self-protection in the environment.
• Maintain all certifications and recurrent training required for Omniflight employment.
• Maintains knowledge and skills through continuing education.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
• Three year minimum experience at a high volume Advanced Life Support service.
• Maintain current CPR, ACLS, PALS, NRP & BTLS/PHTLS, certifications.
• Certified active Paramedic in the state of SC and NREMT-P.
• Must demonstrate critical decision making skills.
• Previous EMS Flight Experience and FPC preferred
